"Monopirika" is an online shop operated by Liner Network Co., Ltd., which publishes the local information newspaper "Liner" based in Asahikawa City, Hokkaido.

This time we spoke to Mr. Abe, the person in charge!



Q. Please tell me about Monopirika.

A. "Monopirika" is an online shop operated by Liner Network Co., Ltd., which publishes the local information newspaper "Liner" based in Asahikawa City, Hokkaido.

I came across this while I was working to spread information. We want to deliver wonderful products made by wonderful people to as many people as possible. With this in mind, this is an online shopping site that delivers attractive local products from Hokkaido to all over Japan.


The name "Monopirika" comes from the Ainu word "pirika," which means "good things," and the concept is to deliver "good things" that Hokkaido is proud of, thanks to its beautiful nature and high-quality manufacturing, to people all over the country.

Q. Who would you like to use Monopirika products and how would you like them to use them?

A. Our products are mainly for gifts, and are often used by people from Hokkaido to give to others, but they are also becoming more popular as a way to order for personal use. We offer uncompromising products for people who want to incorporate truly good things into their daily lives, such as Hokkaido rice and pesticide-free vegetables.

The target audience is primarily men and women in their 40s to 60s.

Q. Could you tell me more about the products you handle?

A. The seasonal vegetable set made with natural farming methods is popular. I am using GoSub .

In Hokkaido, agriculture can only harvest from May to December, but our subscription service during this period is very popular, and those who sign up once continue to do so, which we feel is proof of the high quality of our vegetables.

Other popular items that have a high repeat rate include the cheesecake, which is made with Hokkaido blue mold cheese and has a strong flavor, and the non-sour French dressing made with plenty of apples and onions and served at the store by a popular Asahikawa cafe.

A. It was an app made by a Japanese company, and it was free to start with, so it was easy to get started.

We run the site using Shopify's original theme, and thanks to GO RIDE's quick support for code implementation, we've been able to quickly respond to feature expansions and technical issues while maintaining design freedom.

Another great point is that there are no monthly fees and you can start by paying only a handling fee when you make sales!

(The Starter Plan is free of charge and only has a 2% handling fee. Other plans are monthly and free of handling fees.)

Q. Regarding the subscription and regular sales you are conducting through GO SUB, please tell us more about the features and products, such as cycles and discounts.

A. The subscription benefits vary depending on the product.

For some items, we set a discount amount for the first purchase, but for popular items that have a high unit price and are also listed on other sites, we offer a permanent discount price, and are taking measures to attract customers from other sites to our shop.


Q. Do you communicate with customers who have subscription contracts?

A. We communicate with our regular customers through email newsletters once a year. At that time, we also communicate with them individually by email or phone, and I feel that our relationship with our customers is deepening day by day. Although we do not meet our customers face to face through our online shop, it is an important presence for us.

Q. Finally, please tell us about your future prospects!

A. We would like to hold distribution events and real-life events for Hokkaido gourmet food and sweets so that more people can enjoy more wonderful things.
