With the renewal of the Shop channel and the evolution of POS functions, store operations are becoming even smoother!

As the mornings and evenings gradually become cooler, this season sees increased activity in e-commerce and stores as we approach the end of the year.
Many of you may have noticed recent updates such as, "Did the Shop app videos disappear?" and "New payment options are increasing at POS!"

This Shopify update includes a wealth of changes aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, from the renewal of content features in the Shop app to expansion of POS payment options and improvements in inventory management.

Now, let's take a look at the main updates to watch for this time👇

  1. Shop app: Revamping shopping videos and posting features, focusing on Shop Minis
  2. Shopify POS: Supports various local payment methods such as Klarna, Swish, and USDC with 'Pay by Link'.
  3. Shopify POS: Allows real-time inventory updates with 'Quick Count'.
  4. Reporting Feature: Added a new report to visualize profit margins for cross-border sales.

In this article, we will clearly organize each update from three perspectives:
'What changes have occurred?', 'Which stores and businesses will benefit?', 'How can it be utilized?'.

1. The Shop app's 'Shopping Videos and Posts' has been revamped!──Videos are moving to the home feed, and posts are evolving to Shop Minis

  • The "Shoppable Videos" and "Shoppable Posts" have been removed from the product pages of the Shop app and the Shop store (as of October 15, 2025).
  • The video feature has been temporarily removed and will continue to be displayed in the home feed of the Shop app. It is planned to enhance the feature and re-implement it on the product pages in the future.
  • The Shoppable Posts feature has been completely discontinued, and focus will now shift to the "Shop Minis" platform.

This change only affects the Shop channel (Shop app) and does not impact online stores or social media sales channels.

2. 'Pay by Link' is now available on POS! - Supports local payments such as Klarna, Swish, and USDC.

  • The 'Pay by link' feature has been added to Shopify POS, enabling local payments in-store.
  • Klarna, iDeal, Swish, Twint, MobilePay, USDC (cryptocurrency), etc., can be used directly at the POS withregion-specific payment methods.
  • Customers can complete payments on their own smartphones through QR codes or links.

By providing local payments through the POS, it becomes smoother to cater to tourists and overseas customers.

3. Inventory on the spot with POS! ─ The new feature 'Quick Count' makes inventory updates the fastest.

  • The 'Quick Count' feature has been added to the Shopify POS app, allowing you to count and update inventory on the spot.
  • You can conduct inventory without interrupting POS operations, using barcode scanning or search.
  • You can count up to1,000 products in a single session, and inventory changes are synchronized in real-time.

Inventory can be completed on the POS app, making it easier to maintain consistency with online inventory.

4. See the 'real profit' of cross-border sales! ─ Analyze profit margins by market and order with the new report.

  • Two new reports have been added: "Average Profit Margin by Market" and "Profit Margin by Order".
  • You can analyze the profitability and cost structure of sales by country or region (Market).
  • You can visualize profit margins down to the individual order level, enabling optimization of the profit structure.

You can visualize the profitability of cross-border e-commerce, enhancing the accuracy of pricing strategies and market investment decisions.

Summary

This update was not just about adding new features,

but an evolution towards making "on-site operations more intuitive and smoother".

In the Shop app, communication through videos and posts has been restructured in a new way,

and in POS, practical features that support staff's daily operations, such as "Pay by Link" and "Quick Count," have increased.

Furthermore, with the addition of reports that accurately capture the profit margin of cross-border sales,

it has become possible to verify the "true revenue structure" that was previously hard to see through data.

These improvements are evidence that Shopify as a whole, both in-store and online, is evolving into a 'more practical platform.'

As an operator, please take a moment to review your store settings and POS app,

and make the most of these new features.

Moreover, the ongoing updates from Shopify,

hide significant hints even in small specification changes.
