This will be the third feature update in March 2026!

A long-awaited feature! You can now migrate subscription information when migrating from other e-commerce platforms to Shopify.

This is a must-read for merchants who have wanted to migrate to Shopify but have been hesitant due to the risk of losing subscription customers!

Migrating subscription contracts from other platforms

Up until now, GO SUB has migrated many subscription apps, but all of those migrations were limited to app changes within Shopify.

With this update, we can now also support the migration of subscription contracts from other e-commerce platforms!

However, there are some important points to note, so please be sure to check them.

What's changed in this update?

As before, stores using other apps on Shopify can still migrate their subscriptions to GO SUB.

Previously, it was not possible to create a contract unless payment information was stored in the Shopify customer information, but now it is possible to complete the contract creation process without payment information.

Platform migration and subscription migration process

Shopify settings Launching a Shopify store

We will configure the basic settings, domain, and theme.

Data migration Importing basic information

We will migrate product and customer information from the old platform.

App settings Installing the GO SUB app

App installation and setting up sales plans (delivery cycle, etc.).

Contract transition Importing contract data

We will import your old website's subscription contract information into the app.

Customer Actions Customer registration of payment information

For security reasons, customers are required to re-register their card information themselves.

Final processing Linking payment information and contract information

The registered payment information will be linked to the contract, and recurring billing will begin.

Precautions

As described in step ⑤ above, customers are required to register their payment information.

This is because, for security reasons, payment information cannot be directly transferred.
We appreciate your understanding, as this is the best possible step we can take to protect your information.

Transferring contract information to GO SUB is a paid service provided by our staff. (Currently, this service is free for transfers from Shopfiy or other apps with fewer than 500 entries.)
