Supports multi-store and multi-warehouse operations! A complete guide to split shipping with Shopify.
Introduction | What is split shipping?
Split shipping is a system that allows the products in a single order to be shipped separately from multiple locations.
For example, product A can be shipped from the main warehouse and product B from another store, making it flexible for various scenarios. On Shopify, inventory is managed by location (such as warehouses or physical stores), enabling split shipping by allowing shipments from each location.
By utilizing multiple shipping points, you can ensure optimal delivery based on inventory status and geographical conditions.
Step 1
From the Shopify store settings, select "Shipping and delivery," and add a location.
Next, set split shipping to "On."
You can toggle split shipping on or off by selecting "Manage" in the lower right of the split shipping section.
By checking "Show split shipping at checkout" and saving, you can enable split shipping.
Step ②
From the product page, select the inventory location for the relevant product.
This time, we set the warehouse for tarte in Hokkaido and for shortcake in Kanto.
With this, the split shipping setup is complete.
Now, let's actually try adding items to the cart in the store.

We also confirmed that shipping fees vary depending on the warehouse location.
Summary
With Shopify, even if your products are stored in different locations, you can conveniently ship from each location. The setup is simple, and as long as you properly use locations, you can immediately take advantage of split shipping. If you operate multiple stores or warehouses, definitely give it a try.
